Find Books at Bishop's

To find books, journal holdings, videos or other material located in the library, search the catalogue.

You can search the catalogue by keywords or author, title or periodical title. Do not use the catalogue to find individual periodical articles.

You can also search the catalogue by subject. When searching by subject, use the Browse search mode. Browsing will retrieve a list of subject headings established by the Library of Congress (LC) allowing you to see all the material related to your subject.

The following are some LC subject headings for biology. Use them in a Browse search of the catalogue, or ask a librarian for help identifying the LC subject heading best suited to your own research topic.

Natural history

Adaptation (Biology)

Evolution (Biology)

SUGGESTION-- If you have found a book title through a keyword search or just by chance in the catalogue, you can locate other books on the same topic by clicking on one of the subject heading links within the catalogue record for that item. Ask a librarian if you need help.
